Harbor House Hotel - 1978

Nantucket, MA

 

Expansion of the existing Harbor House Hotel by the addition of 60 bedroom units, meeting room facilities, and commercial space, on an existing parcel of 3.19 acres. The design intent was to create a period streetscape by laying out the hotel as a series of eighteenth century buildings, each accommodating four guest suites, along a newly created street indistinguishable from other historic Nantucket streets. Period details, lighting, fencing, gardens, and materials were used throughout the project to maintain the traditions of the town.
