Duncan Morton received his professional degree in architecture from the University of Virginia in 1999.    Duncan returned to his native New England in August of 2017 to join Design Associates after more than 18 years of practice in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Duncan received a degree in Mathematics at Bates College and a graduate degree in Education at Boston College and he worked for many years as a software engineer before returning to school to pursue his life long passion for architecture.   He has found that his understanding and appreciation for technology, communication and problem solving skills developed from his previous career has served him well in his practice of architecture.

During his practice, Duncan has worked on many of the historic estates in Central Virginia.  He has a passion and appreciation for the craft and detail of historic structures and is skilled at adapting structures to modern day life while maintaining their original character.

Duncan has an NCARB certificate. He is a registered architect licensed in Virginia and with his Massachusetts license being processed.
